Medical Travel Compared, a specialist medical travel insurance comparison website, has pledged to run, walk or march 5K every day throughout the month of March to help raise funds, awareness and support of mental health in the UK.
Five staff members from Medical Travel Compared have joined forces to make a stand for mental health and have accepted the challenge of running 775K (155K per person) over 31 days. All proceeds raised will be donated to Mind to help support their cause.
Mind helps provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. The organisation helps to campaign and improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Medical Travel Compared is passionate about encouraging a positive conversation around mental health. Last year, the company released survey results identifying that a staggering 70% of Brits didn’t know they must declare if they’ve ever been diagnosed with depression, which they have been interested in educating the public on ever since.
Tommy Lloyd, Managing Director of Medical Travel Compared, commented: “Mental health has never been a more important topic, especially in today’s current climate. We are happy and proud to be able to support this fantastic charity which is doing incredible work. It is important to us as a brand to put our customers first and find a way of supporting them with their conditions, and mental is health is one to watch. Fundraising is one tangible way in which we can help.”
