Cunards impressive Queen Mary 2 redesign includes luxury cat and dog kennels

Love travelling but hate leaving your furry friends at home? Fear not! Cunard’s impressive renovation of the Queen Mary 2 now includes luxury cat and dog kennels so you and your pets can travel in style!

Following a £90 million redesign of the classic cruiser, the kennel quarters have been renovated to reflect the style and opulence of the rest of the ship. The vessel now has 24 on-board kennels, each one kitted out with private play areas, as well as a dedicated owner’s lounge.

Cunard has pulled out all the stops to make these jet-setting pets feel right at home, even down to providing a New York City-style fire hydrant and a British lamppost, taken from the Cunard building in Liverpool, for those all-important comfort breaks.

The new pet area was unveiled earlier this month at a glamorous launch party in Brooklyn. Star pooches from Instagram were in attendance including Chloe the Mini Frenchie, Wally the Welsh corgi and Ella Bean. Their adorable exploits were dotingly documented on various social media channels.

In addition to the opulent décor, the Queen Mary 2 also has employed a kennel master and animal welfare expert, Oliver Cruz, dedicated to keeping the pets happy, safe and out of owners’ cabins.

The ship’s eagerly awaited refurbishment also included the installation of 50 additional cabins, enough new carpet to cover Wembley Stadium 10 times, bespoke artwork, decorative ironmongery, soft furnishing and light fittings. A new communal space called the Carinthia Lounge and 30 new Britannia Club staterooms, complete with flat-screen TVs, have also been revealed.

Whether you’re a cruise addict or you’re looking to book your first experience, the new-look Queen Mary 2 is hard to beat.
