Excitement, anticipation and relaxation are often feelings that come when planning an upcoming holiday or excursion. But, especially if you’re heading abroad, there are some things you must think about and organise before travelling to ensure you’re safe and covered in the emergency of changing plans.

As well as travel insurance for pre-existing conditions, one of the other things you need to consider is whether you need to get vaccines when travelling to your chosen location. Vaccines are something that can often be overlooked when travelling, but they are an essential part of travel preparation that will keep you safe and offer you peace of mind. In this guide, we take you through all the vaccines and jabs you will need, broken out into continents, so you can easily find the information you need.

Why is it Important to get Vaccines Before you Travel?

When you’re travelling to new countries, you’re potentially exposing yourself to diseases and germs that you wouldn’t experience here in the UK, especially if you’re travelling to locations that have a lower quality of living or where poverty is commonplace.

To protect yourself against any unwanted infections and diseases, the NHS advises you to get the necessary vaccines to keep you safe. This is especially important for those with a weaker immune system or those who have underlying medical conditions, who might also be required to get more vaccines than those with stronger immune systems.
